Black Forest Horse

Name of Breed: Black Forest Horse
Also known as the Black Forest Cold Blood

Height: 14.2 to 15.3 hands

Colors: Gray, Bay, and Chestnut. The most popular color, however, is dark chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail.

Physical Characteristics: Small but tough draft horses with a long lifespan. They have strong necks and short heads. They have strong legs and durable feet (these are main reasons these horses were originally bred for forestry work though they are now often used as carriage horses).

Additional Info: This breed originates from the southern part of Germany, heavily bred in the "Black Forest" area, hence it's namesake. Rare and just become known as a breed in the North Americas. They are generally healthy and gentle.
