Abyssinian


Name of Breed: Abyssinian


Height: 13 to 14 hands


Colors: Can be any color.

Distinguishing Physical Characteristics: Soft and harsh coats with short hair. They often have green eyes. They often have longer hair, or mustaches, around their nose. 


Additional Info: The breed is also known as Oromo or Gala. They are short, agile, and of a willing temperament.

Abyssinian is also a breed of cat!

Mustang



"He's purebred Mustang." - Hidalgo



Name of Breed: Mustang


Height: 13 hands to 16 hands


Colors: Dun is the most popular color but they can be almost any color.




Distinguishing Physical Characteristics: Due to the fact that mustangs are often wild and have been allowed to interbred with a variety of other horse breeds they can have a range of conformations.




Additional Info: These horses were brought to the Americas by the Spanish and were left to roam wild for the most part. These would be the horses that the Native Americans were able to capture and use. They are often highly spirited and stubborn but sturdy and tough.

Distinguishing Physical Characteristics: They are Cream Colored and have a medium-heavy build, pink skin, and amber-colored eyes.

Shire

Name of Breed: Shire

Height: 16 hands to 21 hands and up
 (These horses often set records for the tallest horses around)

Colors: Black is the standard and accepted color, some coats have a reddish tint.


Distinguishing Physical Characteristics: Stocky, feathers on fetlocks, long curly mane and tail.
